Swine Flu and Candida OvergrowthSWINE FLU AND CANDIDA OVERGROWTH The swine flu is a A (H1N1) virus that has infected humans in the U.S. and Mexico is a novel influenza A virus that has not previously been identified in North America. This virus is resistant to many antiviral drugs but is sensitive to Tamiflu and Relenza, on-going human-to-human transmission has seen a pandemic with hundreds of cases in my area alone many people will have had the virus and not even know it, this virus attacks the weakest of the population and so the best way to protect yourself is to build up the immune system. Candida is a fungus that occurs naturally in our gut it breaks down sugars and is part of the normal gut flora but due to a western diet high in cane sugar and the over use of antibiotics it can get out of control and spread through the body, candida overgrowth can affect all body systems including the immune system. The Overgrowth of Candida in the body can lower the immune systems resistance to any invader, the immune system is complex and can be affected by Candida overgrowth in several ways.Candida overgrowth may lead to leaky gut syndrome which may lead to Candida and other toxins spreading through the body. As the villi become less dense, foreign proteins which have not been completely broken down, may penetrate the intestinal mucous membrane and be wrongly absorbed. Because so much of the human immune system is situated alongside the intestines, these proteins may detected by the immune system, which then reacts to otherwise quite harmless proteins , this may lead to overloading of the immune system.Candida Albicans can make factors which suppress the immune response to its self immune cells do not develop the responses to Candida which they are supposed to develop. Candida can make factors, which prevent the body from reacting to and killing it off. Candida has a capsule on the outside which prevents the white blood cells of the body from engulfing the yeast and killing it. So the body must rely on the other parts of the immune system to try and fight Candida.Candida can change its outside receptors making it difficult for the body's immune cells to react appropriately so it can play hide and seek with the immune system Candida overgrowth may leech nutrients straight out of the gut, Candida feeds on the nutrients from the food before we even have a chance to absorb the nutrients into our bodies, and malnourishment can further weaken the immune system and stop the body from repairing itself. With out a healthy immune system there is no way the body can give a good fight against any virus let alone a new virus we have little immunity to at the moment we face a future of ever increasing pathogens of growing strength and a medical system showing little sign of giving us any real protection we must build up our immunity to its strongest.
